Steelers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Pittsburgh's chances at winning its second straight AFC North Division title and fourth in five years are fading. The Steelers have only three more games in order to finish one ahead of Baltimore and that was a long shot even before the devastation wreaked on them in their 14-3 victory Thursday against Cleveland. The Steelers next play at San Francisco on Monday and that was considered their toughest test down the stretch no matter the circumstances. Now they may have to play without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, not to mention without Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey. Roethlisberger and Pouncey have severe high ankle sprains—although not the most severe—and their availability against the 49ers is in doubt. Steelers march on behind gritty Roethlisberger (AP) The adrenaline had long since worn off by the time Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger slowly -- very slowly -- trudged toward his locker following the Steelers' 14-3 win over Cleveland on Thursday night. As he talked to reporters, his sprained left ankle heavily taped, all Roethlisberger could think about was the chance to sit down.
McCoy battered as Browns lose to Steelers 14-3 (AP) Colt McCoy still hasn't beaten an AFC North team. He may be running out of chances. The second-year Cleveland quarterback passed for 209 yards but also threw a pair of interceptions as the Browns lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 14-3 on Thursday night. McCoy dropped to 0-8 against division rivals as a starter, and this one might have been the most painful.
